    Job Description

     

    We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team of Technology Architects at JMFamily Enterprises to fill a need within Operations Management. The Technology Architect will play a critical role in defining the operational requirements for new projects and technologies, inclusive of the monitoring and daily operations of any solutions.   The role ensures that solutions will meet the monitoring and operational standards for highly available workloads both onprem and in the cloud.  

     

    The candidate filling this role is expected to take the lead in gaining technical understanding of technologies and in particular gain working technical knowledge building applications that will integrate into the existing Operations functions.  This role will be working hands on to develop proofs-of-concepts (POC) to identify viable options for implementing technology capability needs. This role will also define technology use standards and pass on the learning to solution architects through knowledge sharing and mentoring. Candidate should be highly organized and analytic, capable of solving business problems through the appropriate use of technology.   The role of the architect ensure that solutions will meet the monitoring and operational standards for highly available workloads.  

     

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for defining the monitoring reference architectures that turn business and technology strategic needs into actionable solutions for teams to execute on
    • Set future state direction for monitoring technologies by continuously staying abreast of the technology marketplace
    • Participate in infrastructure and application project teams providing consultation on operational standards.
    • Provide technical leadership to project technical resources, which could include solution architects, engineers, and product specialists in delivering a well designed and engineered solution that is integrated with the existing or defined IT architecture and services framework and meets clearly defined technical requirements
    • Set design standards, guidelines and patterns for use by Solution Architects
    • Lead engineering teams in the product selection and POC process
    • Assesses Technology Portfolio for lifecycle impacts, consolidations and optimization opportunities that best align with business needs
    • Develops technology roadmaps and defines future state capabilities
    • Understand the implications of technology design and implementation choices on performance and maintainability
    • Is an evangelist of technology across the organization
    • Defines risk mitigation strategy of technology introduction
    • 10+ more years of Information Technology experience
    • 5+ more years of experience working as an Solution / Technology Architect with multiple projects through the entire SDLC
    • 5+ years of experience developing architectures that solve both complex application and infrastructure problems to efficiently deploy enterprise services
    • 3+ more years of experience working as a Solution Architect designing applications utilizing cloud capabilities
    • 3+ years of experience facilitating Cloud & Infrastructure strategy alignment to architecture development
    • Takes personal ownership for the outcomes
    • Speaks up in group situations with clear, supportive and honest communication to bring solutions to problems
    • Effective in use of listening skills and earning trust of others up, down and across the organization
    • Flexible and responsive; able to perform in a fast paced, dynamic work environment and meet aggressive deadlines
    • Passion for continuous improvement and advancing technology solutions
    • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment-oriented, collaborative environment

    • CI/CD - GitLab, Team City, Jenkins, SonarQube, Selenium, Cucumber, Artifactory
    • Logging/Monitoring - ELK Stack, AWS/Azure monitoring, Sensu
    • Amazon Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Platform Qualified Developer certification
