    Job Description

    At JM Family our associates are our most important asset and our comprehensive benefits package demonstrates our commitment to being a workplace of choice.  The Health & Group Benefits Analyst is a subject matter expert and responsible for helping to advance our unique culture by supporting the benefits strategy and daily operations through in-depth analysis, technical support, project management and partnership with stakeholders across the enterprise.  This role is a key contributor in planning, design and analysis, and will lead new program implementations.  The role will support effective administration of benefit plans in compliance with ERISA and other applicable laws and regulations. The Health & Group Benefits Analyst will be expected to introduce innovative and efficient process improvements/benefits offerings.



    • Research, analyze, evaluate and administer programs to ensure each is delivering expected value; prepares program utilization, financial metrics and interpretation of activity and trends through regular dashboard reports; recommends and assists with design and development of programs and policies; track legislation and provide impact analysis
    • Assist in the development of and execution of overall Health & Group Benefits strategy; provide guidance, subject matter expertise and support to all team members; p
    • Proactively benchmark benefit plans to understand relative position in the marketplace where we compete for talent; identify opportunities to advance the culture through participation in annual surveys and ad hoc studies
    • Lead benefits technology requirements and liaison with HRIS, Payroll and third party vendors to support system testing; data interfaces; development of testing plans
    • As Project Lead, directs the Open Enrollment process by participating in rate development, leading the vendor renewal process, organizing key milestones, planning local and remote meetings, communication of plan changes, delegating tasks, partnering with HRIS to ensure accuracy of enrollments and vendor feeds, communications, etc.; evaluates and recommends technology to foster greater efficiencies and understanding of benefits among associates and their families; documents/updates SOPs
    • Maximize the value of each vendor relationship to ensure day to day operations are executed flawlessly; convey expectations proactively; ensure performance guarantees are appropriate and quantifiable; negotiates agreements that are a win-win; ensure agreements meet business requirements
    • Development of RFPs and evaluation of results
    • Identifies and recommends resolution for complex/escalated issues
    • Creates and delivers effective presentations
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Must demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service to associates, internal/external stakeholders and the Team to advance our best in class benefits delivery model
    • 5 years of progressive benefits experience; BS/BA degree, preferably in HR or Finance
    • Strong knowledge in measuring program effectiveness through quantitative metrics; proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; strong analytical skills
    • Strong desire to continually improve processes through identification of best practices
    • Excellent time management, problem solving and teamwork skills; high attention to detail
    • Fundamental project management experience
    • Keen understanding of HR and employee benefit laws
    • Knowledge of HRIS systems, especially Ultimate Software
    • Excellent communications and presentation skills
    • Ability to travel as needed, especially during peak times including, but not limited to, Open Enrollment
