    Job Description

    Part-Time: Monday through Friday schedule, 25 hours per week position

     

    JM Associates Federal Credit Union is a cooperative not-for-profit financial institution serving only JMFE associates and their family members, committed to managing the memberships' financial resources for the benefit of all members.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, handling over-the-counter teller transactions, cordial phone interaction, opening accounts, and providing information about the services the credit union offers.   Other responsibilities are to ensure seamless member service, assist with loan documents and other pending items as needed, as well as learning and following credit union procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.

     

    • Open, close, and maintain records and paperwork for all types of accounts.
    • Receive deposits by cash and check.  Disburse cash, checks, and balance drawer daily.
    • Learn and utilize all JMAFCU-related computer systems required to process member transactions.
    • Answer phones and process requests for all JMAFCU services.  Communicate available services to members and potential members.
    • Assist with various credit union promotions or sponsor projects as requested.
    • Problem solving and decision making skills to provide excellent member service.

    Job Requirements

    • Confidentiality is a must.
    • Minimum of 1-year previous financial institution (preferred) or cash handling experience.
    • Familiarity with negotiable instruments and proper handling of same a plus.
    • Must be capable of handling monetary transactions.
    • 10 key and computer experience required.
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • A high school diploma or equivalency required.
    • Physical Requirements - Sedentary work which requires the following physical activities:  bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
    • Interactive people skills required.
