    The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. The program is a 10 week paid internship located in Deerfield Beach, FL. Students must be available to intern from June 4 - August 10, 2018. Students in the program will actively contribute to their teams success, learn about JM Family's company and culture and obtain new skills through learning opportunities and networking events. The individual selected for this internship will be responsible for supporting their department in a variety of functions and will have exposure to all activities related to the department's initiatives. The intern will also gain access to professional development opportunities through the internship program. Some of these opportunities include business presentation skills classes, lunch and learns and career readiness workshops. 


    Job Description

    JM Family Enterprises has an opening for a paid temporary Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) intern for a three month period based in Jacksonville, FL. The EHS department is committed to providing comprehensive programs that support JM Family’s mission to be the premier provider of quality products and services. We believe that by striving for continual improvement and fully integrating environmental, health and safety management practices into all aspects of our business, we will reduce incidents that impact people and the planet while conserving resources for future generations.


    In support of this mission, we offer high quality:

    •         training services
    •         consultative services
    •         technical guidance

    As a member of the EHS department, the intern will assist the team in a variety of functions. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Assist in conducting and delivering safety training for associates throughout various departments.
    • Work closely with internal customers on ergonomic analysis and data entry, interpretation and recommendations.
    • Participate in the completion and follow-up of safety audits and inspections at JM facilities.
    • Assist in maintaining safety data sheets and library analysis.
    • Assist in the preparation of appropriate reports for JM establishments and business units, generate reports indicative of trends, losses, claims, etc.
    • Supports EHS to ensure overall Federal, State, and local regulatory compliance, including EHS System standards, and that Company policies, procedures, & activities are reviewed and current.

    Job Requirements

    • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
    • Must be currently enrolled in an Environmental, Health and Safety/Safety Management curriculum at an accredited college, university or junior college.
    • Intern must be able to travel between Deerfield Beach and Jacksonville, Florida.
    • Must have completed junior year by the start of the internship in June 2018 (80 or more credits towards degree).
