    Job Description

    • Prepares, reviews, and/or negotiates contracts, leases, licenses, and other legal documents of all kinds.
    • Directly represents the company or manages outside counsel. Provides legal advice to management of the company with respect to any pending legal issue and drafts necessary documents to protect the company’s interests.
    • Reviews proposed and existing legislation affecting the company and provides legal advice accordingly.
    • Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization.
    • Advises on the legal requirements, implications, and liabilities of essential business plans, programs, policies, and agreements.
    • Develops, provides advice, and implements preventative business strategies to manage legal and financial risk.
    • Develops, implements, and monitors policies, practices, and training to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
    • Conducts presentations and provides training on regulatory issues and relevant legal topics.

    Job Requirements

    1. JD and top academic credentials from accredited law school.
    2. Member of The Florida Bar (or eligible for admission as authorized In-House Counsel).
    3. 3-5 years’ experience in law firm or in-house law department.
    4. Must have experience with a broad range of business transactional matters, including counseling, negotiating and document/contract drafting and review.
    5. Experience in some combination of the following areas of law required: general corporate, technology, healthcare and HIPAA, real estate, construction, and/or employment and benefits.
    6. Must be customer-focused and detail-oriented.
    7. Ability to make good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, business acumen and judgment.
    8. Must be a proven problem solver and able to read situations quickly.
    9. Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities efficiently and effectively in a fast paced environment.
    10. Ability to contribute individually with minimal supervision and as part of a team exhibiting above-average initiative and follow-through on assignments.
    11. Ability to engage and manage outside counsel.
    12. Ability to interact directly with the company's leadership, proposing practical and creative solutions to complex business issues and providing pragmatic risk assessments.
    13. Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions, organizations and with a diverse group of colleagues at all levels.
    14. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and gain their respect and trust.
    15. Excellent writing and communication skills, particularly to assist a non-legal audience in understanding complex legal and regulatory requirements.
    16. Forward thinking, creative, and confident.
    17. Clear understanding and adherence to ethical principles, company values, code of conduct and policies.
    18. Solid PC skills including knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google products (Gmail, Google Drive).
