    Job Description

    JM Family is looking for a Buyer to join the Procurement team. This individual must be a diligent and thorough contract negotiator who can effectively manage multiple priorities.  


    The ideal candidate for this role must establish very strong and mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and therefore requires dynamic interpersonal skills. The Buyer-Contract Analyst is a critical and value-added member of the supply chain organization. 


    Responsibilities include:

    • Facilitate the terms review and execution of new and renewal agreements.
    • Provide first level contract review to ensure that contract terms are consistent with RFP documentation, pricing agreement and corporate standards.
    • Maintain executed contracts in an organized fashion and may assist in maintaining the contract management database to track contracts, including renewal dates, termination provision and other terms.
    • Negotiate prices and terms with vendors to meet business goals and develop strong supplier relationships.
    • Maintain related service and support agreements and manage the end dates using the Ariba system so that agreements are re-negotiated and renewed on time.
    • Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships with Business Units, Legal, Risk; communicate regularly to maintain an understanding of time-lines and activities which impact supply chain.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of management.
    • Act as a primary partner to internal customers by understanding time-lines and managing supply chain activities to increase efficiency.
    • Create purchase orders and ensure proper transactional execution.
    • Follow-up on PO’s with suppliers and manage delivery date expectations as necessary with all relevant stakeholders.
    • Leverage positive working relationships with suppliers based upon mutual benefit; seek favorable terms and conditions which positively impact pricing, quality, payment terms, and others as applicable.
    • Track supplier performance and provide regular feedback to relevant stakeholders; set clear expectations with suppliers and work to add/replace suppliers as needed for optimal business results.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain,  or other applicable field of study.
    • Three (3) or more years experience in procurement, contract negotiation and professional services.
    • Experience sourcing IT hardware and software solutions preferred.
    • Effective negotiation, communication, decision making and problem solving skills.
    • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent PC skills with emphasis on Microsoft products including Word and Excel.
    • Experience dealing with automated purchasing systems. Ariba experience preferred.
    • Ability to manage projects and multi-task effectively.
    • Excellent follow-through.
    • Must be driven and self-motivated.
    • Six sigma certification preferred.
